About this Program

An Introduction to Somatic Thinking™ is six recorded hours, studied at your own pace and divided into segments, each closing with a short quiz that reviews what you have studied.

The course opens with coaching itself, taken to depth: what coaching is and what it is not, where it stands next to mentoring, consulting, teaching, therapy and motivational speaking, the International Coaching Federation's definition of the partnership, and what its research says about coaching's measured benefits, its core competencies and its future.

It then moves into Somatic Thinking Coaching: the principles of the methodology, what it adds on top of the accredited coaching competencies, why it works, and the fields of knowledge it draws on, from linguistics and psychology to philosophy and somatics. You then watch a real session performed in front of you, so you see the methodology working rather than being described.

The course closes with video testimonials from graduates of the Individual Coaching Foundation, the Somatic Thinking chapters from the book Coaching Presence as accompanying reading, and a final lesson that lays out the routes open to you next with direct links to each. The stated aim of the introduction is one thing: enough awareness to decide whether this path is yours or not.

The price of this introduction is deliberately low, and nothing is required of you afterwards. We wanted it to be a door you could look through and decide whether this path is yours before you walk it. We would rather be chosen with awareness than out of convenience.

  • You can state what coaching is and is not, and tell it apart from mentoring, teaching, therapy, consulting and motivational speaking.
  • You know the ICF partnership definition, the core coaching competencies, and what the research says about coaching's measured benefits.
  • You can explain the Somatic Thinking principles and what the methodology adds on top of the accredited competencies.
  • You can describe why the methodology works, and where bodily sensory signals sit in a session.
  • You have watched a real session performed with the methodology and can describe what happened in it.
  • You have enough awareness to decide whether this path is yours, and you know the next step is the Individual Coaching Foundation.

Samer Hassan

MCC · ICF

Samer Hassan is the creator of Somatic Thinking™, a published coaching methodology, and a Master Certified Coach (MCC) with the International Coaching Federation (ICF). In 2019 he received the ICF's Young Leader in Coaching award. He began in martial arts more than thirty years ago and carried one question from there into coaching: how does a person recover their drive from within, rather than from a teacher outside them? With that question he has conducted more than ten thousand one-to-one coaching sessions. Through Kun Coaching Academy, which he founded and leads from Dubai, he has helped train 1000+ coaches across 15+ countries in three languages. He co-authored the peer-reviewed Coaching Presence (McGraw-Hill, 2021) and wrote From Balance to Baraka (2025). In a session with him, the objective is yours. He does not hand you an answer from outside you; he listens and accompanies until you hear your own. People come to him when the question is larger than a situation: who you are, what all of it is for, and where this chapter of your life is going. If you want to find out whether this path is yours, the exploration session is free: twenty minutes in which you hear how he works, and he hears what you are carrying. If you are a coach, mentoring with him is a different kind of work. In coaching you work on your objective; in mentoring you work on your practice. He holds the ICF Mentor Coach Specialization (MCS) and accompanies coaches toward their ICF credentials, with clear feedback measured against the core coaching competencies. His courses open the methodology to anyone who wants to learn it from its creator, beginning with Introduction to Somatic Thinking (STI). Ask him about his role in all of it and he will give you the line he signs with: "A companion on the path, not a leader of it."

What Our Students Say
