About the Gathering

*When you make peace with your body, your self begins to heal.* Reviving the Body is where Ihya begins: the first doorway into Kun's family of residential retreats built on Somatic Thinking™ and led personally by Samer Hassan, ICF MCC. It is made for anyone whose body walks one road while the mind walks another, until the signal between them goes faint: living from the neck up, cut off from the body's own quiet intelligence. Over four days and three nights, from a Thursday-afternoon arrival to a Sunday-afternoon return, a small circle rebuilds that relationship. You learn to listen to the finer signals: the weight of a footstep, the rhythm of a breath, the feel of a body finally at rest, until sensory acuity returns as a daily skill. Sensory Engineering shapes every day on purpose: light, sound, texture, movement, food, and silence, from waking to sleep. Sunrise walks, conscious eating, evenings by the fire, and spaces built for silence and stillness. No fitness is required; the retreat rests on bodily awareness, not exertion. And this edition holds eight people only. A circle kept deliberately small, built for depth rather than crowd, where each participant has a private in-person coaching session with Samer Hassan, using advanced Somatic Thinking™ technique, reaching what the circle alone cannot. You leave with a calmer relationship with your body, built on listening rather than control, a sensory acuity that stays with you day to day, and a balance that returns from deep bodily awareness. My own journey showed me that the body shapes thought. It is not a vessel for it, and this retreat was born from that certainty. This is an educational awareness experience, not therapy: no diagnosis, no treatment. And when the retreat ends you do not simply go home. You join the Companionship, Kun's living worldwide community, and a follow-up circle meets roughly two weeks after you return, to help what began in your body hold. Whoever gives life to one, it is as though they gave life to all mankind, the Qur'an teaches (Al-Ma'idah 5:32). Revival ripples outward, and for the body, it begins with the body itself. Begin there. This edition gathers at Diwa Lodge in Tunis Village, Fayoum, in the Egyptian countryside where the first Ihya circles began.

Eight seats only

A deliberately small circle in nature: residential, full board, four days lived through the body before they are explained in words.

Your private session with Samer

A one-to-one, in-person coaching session for each participant, using advanced Somatic Thinking™ technique.

Awareness, not exertion

No fitness required, no prior experience. The retreat rests on listening to your body, not performing with it.

The body, as a partner again

You return with a calmer relationship to your body: listening instead of control, your natural rhythm restored.

Founder of Kun Academy — Creator of Somatic Thinking® — ICF MCC

Samer Hassan is the creator of Somatic Thinking™, a published coaching methodology, and a Master Certified Coach (MCC) with the International Coaching Federation (ICF). In 2019 he received the ICF's Young Leader in Coaching award. He began in martial arts more than thirty years ago and carried one question from there into coaching: how does a person recover their drive from within, rather than from a teacher outside them? With that question he has conducted more than ten thousand one-to-one coaching sessions. Through Kun Coaching Academy, which he founded and leads from Dubai, he has helped train 1000+ coaches across 15+ countries in three languages. He co-authored the peer-reviewed Coaching Presence (McGraw-Hill, 2021) and wrote From Balance to Baraka (2025). In a session with him, the objective is yours. He does not hand you an answer from outside you; he listens and accompanies until you hear your own. People come to him when the question is larger than a situation: who you are, what all of it is for, and where this chapter of your life is going. If you want to find out whether this path is yours, the exploration session is free: twenty minutes in which you hear how he works, and he hears what you are carrying. If you are a coach, mentoring with him is a different kind of work. In coaching you work on your objective; in mentoring you work on your practice. He holds the ICF Mentor Coach Specialization (MCS) and accompanies coaches toward their ICF credentials, with clear feedback measured against the core coaching competencies. His courses open the methodology to anyone who wants to learn it from its creator, beginning with Introduction to Somatic Thinking (STI). Ask him about his role in all of it and he will give you the line he signs with: "A companion on the path, not a leader of it."
